We are award winning artisan ice cream and sorbet producers, creating everything in small fresh handcrafted batches in our parlour, ensuring we can devote our time and attention to producing the best tasting ice cream and sorbets around.

Our recipes are a closely guarded secret. It has taken over 40 years to perfect them and we are still learning, innovating and experimenting. We use the best quality ingredients to create our famous ice cream. Our sorbets are a great dairy free alternative and the flavours are more intense.

It’s very humbling that a visit to our ice cream parlour has become a part of people’s visit to Beddgelert and some of you travel miles to see us. So thank you for sharing our passion and supporting our family business.

    our story

    We’re a family run business. It all started in 1970 when Joan and Bert Rowley first bought the shop and café in Beddgelert. Derek (their youngest son) developed a passion for ice cream while selling soft serve from a kiosk in the café window. Derek later converted the gift shop into a fully fledged ice cream parlour. Derek’s wife, Elaine, is a Chef and ran the café and pizzeria up until 2017. Together, along with many family members and friends; they have dedicated their lives to making the business a success.

    In 2019 the third generation will be stepping into their shoes…they’re pretty big ones to fill!
